Reverend Sanford Reaves, Jr. was born in Fauquier County Hospital on
November 03, 1955 to Mr. And Mrs. Sanford Reaves, Sr. of Culpeper, Virginia.
He gave his life to Christ and joined the Antioch Baptist Church of Culpeper at the
early age of fourteen. Rev. Reaves graduated from Culpeper County High School
in 1974 and received his Associates Degree in Business Administration from the
Smithdeal-Massey Business College of Richmond, Va. in October 1975. He
enrolled in the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at the Virginia Union
University of Richmond, Va. in September 2002 where after 3 years he received
his Masters of Divinity graduating with the Class of 2005.

On July 03, 1976 Rev. Reaves married his high school sweetheart Lorraine
Glascoe also of Culpeper, Va. They have 3 children Sanford III, Lance, and
Shardonnay and 3 grandchildren Brianna, Elijah, and Lance Jr. He was licensed
on March 30th, 2003 and Ordained into the ministry March 2006 by the
Reverend Dr. Milton L. Branch, Sr. Reverend Reaves served his home church
Antioch as an Associate Minister, where he started the Jail and Prison Ministries,
until being called to Pastor the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Locust Grove, Va. in
June 2007.

He is an entrepreneur managing Sanford and Sons Construction and Janitorial
Services. Rev. Reaves has been a member of the Culpeper County Planning
Commission for 21 years and now serves as chairman. Rev. Reaves also helps in
the community holding positions as board member of Salem Educational
Foundation and Culpeper Juvenile Correctional Center. Rev. Reaves is the
Moderator of the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association Ministerís and
Deaconsí Union.

Rev. Reaves wants to be remembered as a man who spread the love of God
wherever he visited and understood that it was better to give than to receive. His
favorite Scripture is Malachi 3:10 and he continues encouraging everyone to just
